Terms of Service

Note: This is a reference translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Korean version shall prevail.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the service operator and users in connection with the use of MaumReel (the "Service").

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. Service: A web application that provides digital MaumReel creation, participation, playback, and sharing features.
  2. Member: A person who uses the Service by logging in via Kakao account or similar.
  3. Creator: A member who creates a MaumReel and invites participants.
  4. Participant: A user who writes a message in a MaumReel via an invite link. Participants may use the Service without logging in.
  5. Recipient: A person who receives and views the completed MaumReel.

Article 3 (Account Registration)

  1. Creating a MaumReel requires login via Kakao account.
  2. Participants and recipients may use the Service via link without a separate login.
  3. Members must keep their account information accurate and may not transfer or share accounts with others.

Article 4 (Service Provision)

  1. The Service provides MaumReel creation, text and drawing input, writing process timeline playback, and link sharing features.
  2. The Service aims to be available 24/7 year-round, but may be temporarily interrupted for system maintenance or other reasons.

Article 5 (Free and Premium Services)

  1. Free service scope:
    • Up to 5 MaumReels per member
    • Up to 5 participants per MaumReel
    • Up to 1 minute of writing time per participant
    • Anonymous display of participant names
  2. Premium services:
    • Expanded MaumReel creation limit
    • Expanded participant slots (10, 20, 30)
    • Extended writing time
    • Author reveal feature
    • Print and image save features
  3. Specific pricing and payment methods for premium services will be announced within the Service.
  4. The service operator may change premium service content and pricing with prior notice.

Article 6 (User Obligations)

  1. Users must not:
    • Post content that defames or insults others
    • Post obscene, violent, or otherwise offensive content
    • Collect or post others' personal information without consent
    • Disrupt the stable operation of the Service
    • Use automated means for mass access or data collection
    • Improperly circumvent Service usage restrictions
    • Violate applicable laws and regulations
  2. Users are solely responsible for any consequences arising from violations of this Article.

Article 7 (Content Management)

  1. Copyright in content (text, drawings, etc.) created by users belongs to those users.
  2. The service operator may delete or restrict access to content that violates Article 6 without prior notice.
  3. MaumReel data is retained for 30 days after closing and is then automatically deleted.

Article 7-2 (AI-Based Content Filtering)

  1. The Service applies AI-based image classification and keyword filtering to proactively block inappropriate content submitted by users.
  2. AI-based filtering operates within the user's browser; image data is not sent to external servers for analysis.
  3. Content submissions may be automatically restricted based on filtering results; users may contact the service operator to dispute such decisions.
  4. AI-based filtering is not 100% accurate; some legitimate content may be blocked or inappropriate content may pass through.

Article 8 (Participant Anonymity)

  1. Messages written by participants are displayed anonymously by default.
  2. The author reveal feature is available as a premium service.
  3. Participants may request deletion of their messages; deleted messages cannot be recovered.

Article 9 (Service Changes and Suspension)

  1. The service operator may change or discontinue all or part of the Service.
  2. Users will be notified in advance of service suspension; post-notice may apply in unavoidable circumstances.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

  1. The service operator is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure such as natural disasters or system failures.
  2. The service operator is not responsible for users failing to achieve expected results from using the Service.
  3. The service operator has no obligation to intervene in disputes between users or between users and third parties.

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising from use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the service operator's location.

  • These Terms take effect on June 15, 2025.
  • June 15, 2025: Added account registration clause, premium service clause, and writing time limit.
  • June 15, 2025: Added Article 7-2 (AI-Based Content Filtering).
