Privacy Policy

Note: This is a reference translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Korean version shall prevail.

MaumReel (the "Service") values user privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal data collected, the purposes of collection, and retention periods.

1. Personal Data Collected

The service operator collects the following personal data to provide the Service:

  • Kakao login (Creator): Kakao account identifier (ID), email address
  • MaumReel creation: Recipient name (nickname)
  • MaumReel participation: Nickname
  • Writing process data: Text input, drawing strokes, input timestamps, and other canvas event data
  • Automatically collected: Service usage logs, access logs, device info (browser type, OS, etc.)

Participants and recipients use the Service without logging in; in such cases, Kakao account information is not collected.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

  • User identification and creator authentication
  • Providing MaumReel creation, participation, and viewing features
  • Providing writing process timeline playback
  • Managing free/premium service usage limits
  • Service improvement and stable operation

3. Retention and Use Period

  • Member account information: Retained until account deletion; destroyed promptly upon withdrawal.
  • MaumReel data: Retained for 30 days after closing; automatically deleted thereafter.
  • Writing process event logs: Retained for the same period as MaumReel data, then deleted.
  • Service usage logs: Retained for up to 1 year for operational purposes, then destroyed.

4. Destruction of Personal Data

Personal data whose retention period has expired is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are deleted using methods that prevent recovery; paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

5. User Rights

  • Members may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data at any time.
  • Participants may request deletion of their messages and related event logs.
  • Upon deletion request, the relevant data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
  • Deletion requests can be submitted through the in-service contact.

6. Third-Party Disclosure

The service operator does not provide users' personal data to third parties. However, data may be provided in accordance with applicable laws when legally required.

7. Data Processing Delegation

The service operator delegates personal data processing as follows to provide the Service smoothly:

  • Supabase, Inc.: Database and file storage operation, user authentication
  • Vercel, Inc.: Web service hosting
  • Kakao: Social login authentication

8. Cookies and Automatic Collection

The service operator may use cookies for user convenience. Users may refuse cookie storage via browser settings, but some Service features may be restricted as a result.
